Abstract:
Twenty-nine finite element models of a ten-story frame structure were set up to investigate the influences on its natural vibrating period of the filled wall. The main influential factors included the walls material, its spatial arrangement, and its quantity in weak story. Results indicate that the performance of filled walls materials has little influence on the frames natural vibrating period. The quantity of filled walls in weak floor and the location of weak floor are the two main influence factors. Based on numerical analysis, the modified models for calculating the frames natural vibrating period are presented, where the influences of filled wall are given.

Guo Jinjun, He Jianping, Shi Jianyong
2010, 40(5): 62-69. doi: 10.13204/j.gyjz201005013
Abstract:
Based on cavity expansion theory, with the assumption that compaction stress acted on the wall of the pile was constant, some scholars proposed analytical answer to the setup of jacked-in piles in cohesive soil. But in-situ tests showed that compaction stress was decayed constantly. A series of triaxial strain-holding tests were conducted, and the results of tests showed that the compaction stress decayed linearly with logarithmic time appreciatively, the effective stress decreased at the beginning and then increased later during consolidation of the soil near to the piles, and the increment of the effective stress was only 0.20~0.27 times the excess pore pressure. So it would be overestimatied pile bearing capacity by assuming that compaction stress was constant.

Ji Yongzhi, Wang Yuanzhan
2010, 40(5): 70-73. doi: 10.13204/j.gyjz201005014
Abstract:
Based on the one-dimension stress wave theory, the low strain dynamic test of concrete pile whose top is restricted or not is studied by finite element explicit analysis method. The dynamic tests of top-restricted concrete pile are affected not only by the soil around pile, but also by the upper structure, and the signal of 3D effect reflected by the pile is stronger. Then, the interference of the upper structure is filtered through signal progress. Finally, the simulated curves are in good agreement with those obtained from field measurements. So the simulation of concrete pile dynamic test is reliable and the conclusion may be a guidance of increasing the accuracy of the low strain dynamic test of concrete pile.

2010, 40(5): 79-81. doi: 10.13204/j.gyjz201005016
Abstract:
The hyperbolic function is used to fit the e-p data of consolidation tests, with which, the hyperbolic model of the void ratio and effective consolidation stress is presented. On the basis of the permeability coefficient and the void ratio, the relationship between consolidation coefficient and effective consolidation stress of soft clay under compression is derived through the e-p hyperbolic model. The results of the indoor experimental of seepage pressure show that the calculation model is reasonable. In this paper, the calculation model reflects well the relationship between consolidation coefficient and effective consolidation stress, which provides a useful reference for the engineering design.

2010, 40(5): 87-91. doi: 10.13204/j.gyjz201005018
Abstract:
Based on the workability test of fiber reinforced self-compacting concrete, this paper presents theexperimental study on flexural behavior of seven sets of hybrid fiber reinforced self-compacting concrete beams withoutreinforcement and five sets of hybrid fiber reinforced self-compacting concrete beams with low reinforcement ratios. The influence of fiber aspect ratio and fiber type on crack load, yield load, ultimate load and flexural toughness are analyzed. The results indicate that the flexural toughness increases with increasing of fiber aspect ratio. The flexural toughness of hybrid fiber reinforced self-compacting concrete beams is better than that of steel fiber, which indicates positive hybrid effect. Compared to RC beam with a minimum longitudinal reinforcement, the yield load and ultimate load of fiber reinforced RC beams are greatly improved. The ultimate load of 40 + 4kg /m3 hybrid fiber reinforced RC beam with a minimum longitudinal reinforcement is similar to that of RC beam with 1.5 times of a minimum longitudinal reinforcement.

He Yibin, Huang Pin, Leng Qiaojuan, Xiao Alin, Guo Jian
2010, 40(5): 109-113. doi: 10.13204/j.gyjz201005023
Abstract:
If the dimension of rectangular openings designed suitably in practical projects, pipes and wires will not only expediently pass through the beam web to reduce the story height of a building and increase economic benefits, but also move the plastic hinge far away from the connection. In this way,it can avoid the connection failure before the members, and ensures the structural integrity and make it no collapse. The dimension of openings and the distance between the opening and the column surface are determined by the restriction requirement for beam web by flange, the shear-bearing requirements of web,the ratio of the moment at beam end to the moment at reduced section and preventing compressive plate local buckling. While with openings on web,the element stiffness matrix of frame element and the internal force and displacements of structure will be affected out of question. Therefore,it is necessary to research the element stiffness matrix of frame element. In order to decrease the amount of calculation, the beam is handled as a link element. Virtual work theory is used to derive the element stiffness matrix of frame element with openings on web,and compared with the result of finite analysis method. It shows a satisfactory agreement between calculated and finite analysis results.

Huang Hong, Zhang Ange, Zhao Bing
2010, 40(5): 114-118,108. doi: 10.13204/j.gyjz201005024
Abstract:
Six concrete filled double-skin steel tubular (CFDST) columns were tested under bi-eccentric loading condition,in order to study the effects of slenderness ratio, load eccentricity and load angle on the mechanical behavior of the specimens. The test results show that the deformation of the specimens agrees basically with the planesection assumption; the larger the slenderness ratio and load eccentricity, the lower the bearing capacity; load angle has little effect on the load-deformation relationship curves. Finally,load-deformation relationship curves of CFDST subjected to biaxial compression are analyzed by fiber element method. The calculated results are compared with the experimental results, and they agreed well with each other.
SHEAR PERFORMANCE ANALYSIS OF STIFFENED STEEL PLATE SHEAR WALLS WITH SLITS
Zhao Ruirong, Chen Lin, Zhou Yun
2010, 40(5): 119-123. doi: 10.13204/j.gyjz201005025
Abstract:
In this study, two methods of out-of-plane stiffening are introduced, one is reinforced concrete plate stiffening, and the other is rigid plate stiffening. The shear strength, stiffness, ductility and energy dissipation capacity of stiffened and unstiffened slit walls under shear loading are studied by means of nonlinear finite element analysis using ABAQUS software. Large-deflection effects and out-of-plane initial imperfection are considered. The effect of two stiffening methods on the out-of-plane buckling and stress patterns of slit steel panels are also investigated. The analysis results show that using reinforced concrete plate as a stiffening panel can effectively prevent the elastic buckling as well as development of diagonal tension field action, and significantly increase the shear strength, ductility and energy dissipation capacity. Considering the brittle shear failure of concrete itself,to better restrain the out-of-plane buckling of slit steel panels,it is suggested that the reinforced concrete plate should not be engaged in resisting the lateral-force from early stages.

Li Lei, Zheng Shansuo, Deng Guozhuan, Wang Bin, Wang Wei
2010, 40(5): 124-128,132. doi: 10.13204/j.gyjz201005026
Abstract:
The finite element (FE) modeling method for steel reinforced high performance concrete (SRHPC) composite structure taking account of the interfacial bond-slip is proposed in this research. A comparison between FE results and test results validates the accuracy of the proposed method. The SRHPC structure is numerically analyzed by varying the design parameters, such as axial compression ratio, concrete strength, steel ratio and steel strength. The influence of these parameters on structural performance is discussed. The results show that structural performance is sensitive to steel strength. Bearing capacity and deformation capacity can be effectively improved as steel strength increases. The axial load has negative influence on the structural deformation capacity. However,if axial compression ratio is less than 0.4,the structural bearing capacity increases to some extent ration. If axial compression ratio is larger than 0.4,the structural performance, especially the negative stiffness, decreases rapidly as axial compression ratio increases.
