EXPERIMENTAL STUDY ON SEISMIC PERFORMANCE OF THE SHORT-LIMB SHEAR WITH MASONRY FILLER WALL

  • A static test for one 4-story composite structure of short-limb shear with the masonry filler wall is conducted under low-cyclic loading. Based on the experimental results,the bearing capacity,deterioration process of stiffness,ductility,hysteretic curves,energy dissipation and failure characters are analyzed. The analysis results show that the values of initial stiffness,yielding load and ultimate bearing capacity have been improved obviously.The short-limb shear with the masonry filler wall has the advantage of dual function structure,which is a new aseismic shear wall. Some suggestions for engineering design are also presented in this paper.
