Calculating the lateral earth pressure acting on a retaining wall was an essential step in the design of many
geotechnical engineering structures. A simplified model of distribution for the lateral earth pressure on a retaining wall
with drum-type mode was proposed through analysis. The proposed model was verified through comparisons with
Terzaghi-Peck and Tschebotarioff model by two engineering examples. The comparsive result showed that the
recommended model for lateral earth pressure more closer to the measured.
