Yue Qingrui (Jan.1962-) is a native of Qiqihar City in Heilongjiang Province, Academician of CAE, an expert in engineering structures, the incumbent president of Central Research Institute of Building and Construction, MCC, the part-time president of China Steel Construction Society, chairman of the editorial committee of Industrial Construction. He has previously held the position as director of National Engineering Research Center for Industrial Building Diagnosis and Rehabilitation, director of National Engineering Research Center for Steel Structure, vice-chairman of National Technical Committee for Building Appraisal and Reinforcement Standards, vice-chairman of China Association for Engineering Construction Standardization. Having long engaged in the theoretical research, technological development, standard compilation, engineering application and industrialization of engineering structures diagnosis, Academician Yue has made a wide array of innovative achievements in the reliability inspection and evaluation of industrial buildings/structures, structural reinforcement and renovation, application of high-performance structural materials such as FRP in civil engineering, which have contributed significantly to guaranteeing the safety of industrial/civil buildings and infrastructure, facilitating the application of fiber composite in civil engineering. Some scientific research results have solved the major technical challenges at national and industrial levels, have been widely applied in the industrial buildings/structures in metallurgical, mechanical, building materials, chemical, nonferrous, electric power, and coal industries, and also have been promoted into the engineering diagnosis and performance improvement of all types of civil buildings and infrastructure such as bridges, tunnels, harbors and so on. He has presided the accomplishment of more than 10 national scientific research programs, presided the compilation of 19 national and industrial standards, published 3 monographs and more than 100 papers. Besides, he has been honored 3 National Scientific and Technological Progress Second Prize and more than 10 provincial scientific and technological awards.
