EXPERIMENTAL RESEARCH ON DESIGN METHOD FOR FRAME JOINTS OF CONCRETE- FILLED STEEL TUBULAR CORE COLUMNS AND PRESTRESSED CONCRETE BEAMS

  • The failure mode, ductility, hysteretic characteristics and shear property of the joints are studied by the tests for five frame joints of concrete- filled steel tubular core columns and prestressed concrete beams . The experimental results indicate that the construction methods are feas ible and safe, and such joints have good ductility and good energy dissipation. With the concrete- filled steel tube core columns, the shear bearing capacity of core area of joints can be raised greatly.
