An uniaxial loaded experiment of beam-pillar supported joint widely used in steel structure workshop was introduced. Three specimens of different working place was studied. A comparison between the result under ultimate load and the result of the present method was made. The axial force of slanting brace was obtained and was compared with the stress of repeatedly loaded experiment. The result showed that the joint had different load carrying capacity in different working place. The present calculation method was safe when the brace was not yielded and the stiffness and strength of the connection angle steel could meet the requirements. The method proposed in this paper could be used when the stiffness and strength of the connection angle steel could not meet the requirements.
