EXPERIMENTAL STUDY ON UNIAXIAL MECHANICAL PROPERTIES OF PERFORATED BRICK MASONRY

  • In order to obtain the plane stress strength curve of masonry structure,based on the experimental research of mechanical properties and the test method in current specification,several kinds of tests were carried out, including horizontal compressive strength tests,vertical compressive strength tests,straight-line joint tensile strength tests and vertical tensile strength tests. The results of these tests conforms to the basic mechanical properties of masonry structure with high compressive strength and low tensile strength. The test data could be used to determine the key points on the axis of the plane stress curve. Besides,the method of tensile strength tests in the paper could be applied in all kinds of tensile strength tests for masonry structures.
