STATIC PERFORMANCE OF THE HIGH-PERFORMANCE CONCRETE FILLED STEEL TUBULAR BEAM-COLUMN(Ⅱ): MECHANISM ANALYSIS AND LOAD BEARING CAPACITY

  • Distributions of stresses and strains of steel tube and concrete for high-performance concrete filled steel tubular beam-column were investigated.Study on interaction forces between steel tube and concrete indicated that confinement force located at compressive region was bigger than other locations for circular specimens,while the interaction force located at corners were the biggest ones for the square specimens.All of the specimens had the biggest interaction forces on the compressive region at the mid-height cross-section.Adhesive strength and loading path had little influence on the static performances of the specimens.Calculation formula of load bearing capacity for the normal concrete filled steel tubular beam-column is also suitable for the high-performance concrete filled steel tubular beam-columns.There are no essential differences between the high-performance concrete filled steel tubular beam-columns and the normal concrete filled steel tubular beam-columns in aspect of static performance.
