EXPERIMENTAL RESEARCH ON SEISMIC PERFORMANCE OF BRICK MASONRY WALL WITH PILASTER REINFORCED BY GFRP WITH "THROUGH-WALL" ANCHOR

  • It was carried out an experimental research on seismic performance of brick masonry walls with pilasterreinforced by glass GFRP whenthrough-wall anchors were used. By carrying out the experiment of six pieces ofbrick masonry walls with pilaster strengthened by GFRP and three pieces of masonry wall with through-wallanchor under low reversed cyclic loading, the failure characteristic of every wall was explained ; Seismicperformances such as resilience, rigidity and its degeneration, deformation, energy consumption ifthrough-wallanchors were taken or not. The test results showed that using through-wall anchors could decrease rigiditydegeneration of the wall; through-wall anchors had some influence on deformation of the wall, and was betterthan strengthening modes; Usingthrough-wall anchors had little influence on energy consumption of the wallsunder the ultimate load, but was another thing under the ultimate displacement.
