EXPERIMENTAL RESEARCH ON THE AMOUNT OF CLAY CREEP

  • Creep deformation of undisturbed and reconstituted clay was studied based on drained triaxial compression tests.Creep tests were performed several times during monotonic primary loading,unloading and reloading.Test results show:1) the creep deformation of clay is related to the type of clay;2) the deformation of clay creep is related to strain rate is before creep,the larger strain rate,the greater the amount of creep;3) the deformation of clay creep is related to the stress level,as creep stress maintaining higher,the amount of clay creep is larger;and 4) in reloading progress,as stress level increases,the creep of clay show the negative creep,neutral creep to positive creep gradually being transformed.
