In order to quantitatively analyze the aseismatic performance of this kind of beam-column assemblies through whole loading history, the non-linear FE analyses of the cross beam-column specimens were carried out by ANSYS.Compared to the experimental results, the finite element analyses cast a further light upon the characteristics of this beam-column assembly while being subject to cyclic reverse loading.Cracking patterns, streel bars's stress distribution and force-displacement curves at beams ends resulted from the experiments indicate that at location of plastic hinge area the main cracks developed sufficiently and the stress of steel bars was peak values, and no bonding failure of steel bars is found within core region of assemblies. It is noticed that the results of finite element analysis of the specimens can properly depict the characteristics and process under loading.
