The in-plane stability bearing capacity of lipped H-section tapered members under both compression and bending is studied,and corresponding calculation formula is also given based on the existing formula of current Chinese related technical codes.For tapered members,stability bearing capacity is seriously affected by tapering ratio,thereby a series of examples are designed to evaluate the influence of tapering ratio on stability bearing capacity of lipped H-section tapered members,meanwhile the accuracy and validity of the calculation formula proposed in the study is also confirmed.
