The RC frame with infill walls constructed with hollow shale tiles and solid clay bricks which are used to divided into the room is a complicated composite structure. Research shows that the infill walls have great effect on the capacity, stiffness, deformation behavior of frames and the dynamic property of the building. However, the seismic code of buildings in China has not clearly indicated the relation between RC frame and infill walls in quantifying way . A lot of RC frames with infill walls were attacked by Wenchuan Earthquake, so damage styles of the RC frames with infill walls varied greatly , which enrich the knowledge about the seismic property of the infilled frames. In the paper, the failure mode of The RC frame with infill walls was introduced. Meanwhile, the failure mechanism of infilled frame was analyzed. Some conclusions and suggestions were put forward in this paper.
