The newly constructed Ameco A380 hangar is for line maintenance for all types of aircrafts including A380 aircraft.This hangar is provided with multifunctional and highly flexible aircraft maintenance facilities.All designs(including process layout,equipment allocation,plan layout,building appearance,and structure systems) are based on the service for the functional demands on the hangar.This paper reveals the intrinsic laws and functional features of aircraft maintenance hangars,and further discusses what designers should consider for this type of specially functioned buildings.
