STUDY ON THE MECHANICAL PROPERTIES OF LIGHTWEIGHT AGGREGATE CONCRETE IMPROVED BY STEEL FIBERSMETHOD

  • Steel fibers, steel fibers and polypropylene fibers were introduced to reinforce lightweight aggregate concrete (LWAC) of LC30 and LC35.It was studied the effect of steel fiber dosage on the mechanical properties of LWAC.The results indicate compressive strength, flexural strength and toughness of steel fibers lightweight aggregate concrete (SFLWAC) have been increased significantly as compared to reference LWAC.But its apparent density will be increased correspondingly.By fibers mixture, the toughness of LWAC is improved effectively, and both its low apparent density and strength are then maintained.
