Under the long-term effects of various factors, materials of building will gradually aging;various levels of cracking, steel corrosion, spalling and carbonation of concrete appear at frame members, which leads to degeneration of structural properties and decline of structural reliability. Therefore, how to detect, reinforce and repair the historic building is worthy of study and discussion for engineers.Based on a building built in the early 1930s,the detection is implemented, and in accordance with the principle of renewals the function of the building but keeps the appearance of the building reservating, the related reinforcement design and methods are proposed to meet the requirements of good performances of this building.
