EXPERIMENT AND ANALYSIS ON SHEAR PERFORMANCE OF STEEL REINFORCED HIGH - STRENGTH CONCRETE COLUMNS

  • Based on twenty specimens with concrete strength varied from 65. 3MPa to 84. 9MPa subjected to constant axialcompression force and horizontal load, the shear performance of steel reinforced high -strength concrete columns is studied.Four factors, that is shear span ratio, axial compression ratio, stirrup ratio and grade of concrete strength, are taken intoconsideration. Failure patterns of specimens are obtained and it is analyzed the influence of shear span ratio, axialcompression ratio, stirrup ratio and grade of concrete strength on shear performance of steel reinforced high -strengthcolumns. A calculating formula for shear bearing capacity of steel reinforced high -strength columns is presented. Thisformula is consistent with the formula for shear strength in the current code ( GB 50010 -2002) , whose calculating resultstend to be safe.
