A PRACTICAL CALCULATING METHOD FOR SEISMIC BEARING CAPACITY OF BLAST-FURNACE WALL

  • It is introduced the renovation of the No. 4 blast _ furnace wall of TaiyuanSteel and IronCorporation. Temperatureof the blast-furnace wall is too high for some technical causes. To cool it a great numbers of holes have to be drilled at thelower blast-furnace wall to install water -cooled pipes.The difficulty is that there is only 260 mm in distance between theexisting two rows of pipes. It is also shown a practical calculating methodfor aseismic bearing capacity of blast -furnace wall.The example of strength check computation and strengthening design are also introduced, which may be a reference forsimilar engineering inmetallurgical factories.
