Crystal stone lobby of Shenzhen Children's Palace is a complicated structure combined by outer frame of 16 steel pipe columns and inner ellipse shell spatial truss. The columns of outer frame are braced by fra me beams along ring direction and by no radial mid support. So their slender ra tios along radial direction are greater than the allowable ones regulated by ste el design codes. In order to study the seismic performance of this type of struc ture, a shaking table test of 1/20 structural model is carried out and is also a n alyzed with SAP2000. It is found that its deformation response can meet the requ irements of relevant codes.
