Buildings are the main feature of a city. Urban environments are mostly relative to buildings. Roofs are the main interface of cities which connect buildings to the air, rainwater and sunlight. The ecological functions of a roof are exhibited in rainwater collecting, roof planting, solar facilities and building unit design etc. A design thought combining a roof's ecological functions is proposed.
