SEISMIC RESPONSE ANALYSIS FOR FRAME STRUCTURE WITH SUPER-ELASTIC SHAPE MEMORY ALLOY DAMPER

  • A super-elastic shape memory alloy(SMA) damper is used in frame structural passive control.A simplified constitutive model of the super-elastic SMA is given.The mechanical model and the vibration equation for the frame structure with SMA dampers are set up.The vibration control effect is verified by time-history analysis of the practical structure under the earthquake.The results show that the super-elastic SMA damper has good effect on structural vibration control.
