THE LOCAL MESH DENSIFICATION METHOD FOR 2-D FEM OF BIOT CONSOLIDATION THEORY

  • In order to solve the problems of settlement and resistance of soft soil foundation, a lot of 2-D FEM programs based on Biot consolidation theory are written.The mesh needs to be densified to get accuracy.In this paper a practical local mesh densification method, which can deal with the problems in 2-D FEM of Biot consolidation theory that usually interface element and multi-loads are included, is given.At last, the authors write a mesh densification program which shows the method is correct and very useful for a real project.
