In order to study the mechanical behavior of the dispersed pressure retaining wall,the indoor model test
was conducted. Earth pressure cells,dial indicators,and strain gages min were buried at different heights of the
retaining wall. It was studied the change law of the retaining wall's displacement,base earth pressure,lateral
pressure and the anchor force under high fill loads. The results of the model experiment showed that the retaining wall
was of tilting tendency under high load. The outside pressure of basement was bigger than inner side. The shadowing
effect of anchor was obvious. The lateral earth pressure formed the shape of reverse S-type. The end of anchor had
concentration of stress. Shear stress in the middle of anchor was biggest.
