Based on the test results of steel reinforcement high strength high performance concrete ( SRHSHPC) short
columns subjected to cyclic loading,the aspect span ratios,concrete strength,axial compression ratios,stirrups
ratios and steel ratios were studied. According to principle of superposition,the shear strength equation was
established by considering the contribution of the reinforcement concrete,steel,axial compression and displacement
ductility demand for the diagonal shear failure and the shear bond failure. To evaluate the accuracy of the proposed
approach,the shear strength predicted by the proposed approach was compared with test results. The resulta showed
that the proposed approach could estimate the shear strength of test specimens with reasonable precision. The results
can supply a theoretic basis and a reference for the engineer design and revision of technical specification for steel
reinforced concrete composite structures.
