EXPERIENCE IN CONSERVATION AND MANAGEMENT OF EDINBURGH OLD TOWN AND NEW TOWN

As a wide international action，the sustainability concept of conservation and management of world heritage has been spread worldwide． Through introducing the mature protection system for conservation and management of Edinburgh World Cultural Heritage and its conservation and management practice，it was analyzed the condition and applicable pattern for using the protection and management modes under the background of the Chinese urban culture，as well as the important role in the sustainable development of economy，society and history． It was expected to provide scientific ideas and good references for further conservation and management of world cultural heritage in China．
