APPRAISAL OF CRACKS ON CONCRETE SHORT COLUMNS OF A FRAME AND RESEARCH ON RETROFITTING MEASURES

  • A field inspection was done for the diagonal cracks on the short columns of R. C frame for a street building in Rizhao city. The structure concrete strength was detected by rebounding methed and drilled concrete samples. A transverse frame was taken as the structure calculation unit,temperature deformation of the garage floor was attached to the horizontal frame,then the structure internal force was analyzed by SAP2000 under the case of taking account of lateral restraint influence of backfill,and the case without this consideration. In the end,the reason of the cracks on the R. C colunms had been found out. The retrofitting measures were put forward for damaged R. C columns,which can provide a basis for appraisal and strengthening of similar projects.
