STUDY ON HYSTERETIC BEHAVIOR OF BUCKLING-RESTRAINED BRACE COMPOSED OF DOUBLE-T-SHAPED CORE MEMBER AND ANGLE IRON RESTRAINED

  • To improve the traditional BRB,it was proposed a double-T-shaped core member and angle iron bucklingrestrained brace( DTABRB). Using ANSYS software,finite element model of DTABRB was created. The nonlinear finite element analysis( FEA) is carried out on the model under cyclic loading and hysteresis loop of brace was obtained from FEA. Based on which multi-parameter analysis,considering different gap between the steel core member and the buckling-restrained mechanism,restraining stiffness,the length of connection section and transition section was carried out to study impacts of these parameters on hysteresis loop of DTABRB. Finally,the suggested values of these parameters were given,which provided a reference for the design of the new brace.
