From the standpoint of applicability design of large crawler crane for the third generation nuclear powerunit,considering the better economics and construction safety,it was analysed type selection,disposal of workingfield,and overhang method of large crawler cranes based on full utilization of the capacity and effective reduction ofthe groud bearing pressure,which can not only improve the construction efficiency but also reduce the cost ofconstruction. This paper can provide experience for improving the applicability design of large crawler crane forconstruction of the successive AP1000 series nuclear power unit.
