COMPARATIVE ANALYSIS OF PUNCHING SHEAR CAPACITY FOR REINFORCED CONCRETE SLAB

  • A comparison of the provisions for punching shear capacity calculations of reinforced concrete slab wasstudied based on China code(GB 50010 - 2010),ACI 318 - 08 and EN 1992 - 1 - 1:2004. The effects of concretestrength,shape and dimensions of loading,longitudinal reinforcement ratio,reinforcement lagout on the punchingshear capacity were studied. According to experimental results of 423 specimens,calculated values and experimentalvalues of the punching shear capacity were compared and analyzed for different codes. The results indicate thatbecause of the consideration of longitudinal reinforcement ratios effect on punching failure capacity in Europe code,the calculated values of Europe code are more reasonable,and are the highest ones,and those by China code are thelowest ones.
