A two-story reinforced recycled aggregates concrete (RAC) frame was tested under low-cycle repeatedload. The failure characteristics,hysteretic behavior,skeleton curve,strength degradation,stiffness degradation andenergy dissipation capacity etc. were evaluated. Meanwhile,the change law of the strains on the reinforcement barslocated in columns and beams was also analyzed using the embedded strain gages. The experimental results show thathysteretic curves obtained from the tested RAC frame have plump shapes,indicating the RAC frame has good energydissipation capacity. No significant decrease was found in bearing capacity when the deformation reached 3. 5 timesthe yield deformation. The seismic performances of RAC frame are quite good and the application of RAC frame isfeasible for civil engineering structures.
