Through a four-story steel frame model experiment under enviromental excitation, the displacement response of each measuring point was recorded, and five time domain methods(the ITD method, STD method, the complex index method, the ERA method and the stochastic subspace method) were used to identify the modal parameters.An acceptable and satisfying result shows that all the methods can be applied to the building structure.The 5 methods have higher precision for identifying frequency, and have relative lower precision for damping ratio.Compared with STD method and the complex index method, the Stochastic Subspace method and the ERA method have higher precision for identifying the model parameters, the ITD method has lower precision.
