The bolt connection joint of steel tubular scaffold with couplers is a kind of typical semi-stiffness connection;the stiffness is directly related to the tightening moment. The innovative lateral resistance of whole frame was designed based on the objective parameter displacement back analysis and different from the regular stiffness test of single joint. The relationship between the node lateral displacement and the top level force was got by the test. The joint rotation stiffness considering the structural factors was gained through the analysis of the experimental data and the finite element analysis, which provided the reliable key mechanical parameter for ultimate strength analysis of the whole frame.
