Based on the calculation and analysis of engineering examples by finite element structural software SATWE it was studied effects of layers and floor height in tall shear walls structure on quantity of shear walls, and obtained some reference suggestions.Usually when the design of tall shear walls structure it is tried to make the ratio of height to width being not greater than 4,which can control the cost of a building. The change of floor height has more significant impact than the change of layers in rigidity of shear-wall structure. When increasing the wall thickness of shear-wall to ensure the max-story drift under the same conditions, the increase in layers and floor height of structure will produce adverse effects on the overall stability and safety of the structure.
