The building A of Minda Plaza was adopted the SRC frame and shear wall structural system.Due to the functional need, the beams were deleted from the spindle-shape outmost frames, where the columns were arranged in an inclined orientation with the principal floor axes. The transfer story was of particular challenge, thus a new type of composite beam with encased built-up double steel sections was designed. The satisfactory performance of the new structural system was validated through quasi-static loading tests and shake-table test. The structure was exhibited to follow the failure mechanism of strong columns, weak beams, stronger transfer beams, and the strongest connection. The steel reinforced concrete transfer beams with double-steel sections had satisfactory bearing capacity and energy dissipation capacity, suitable to meet the requirements of functional limitation.
