By the loading test of RC beams,the theoretical values of the maximum crack widths and deflections were validated and compared based on the present and old editions of Code for Design of Concrete Structures(GB 500102010 and GB 500102002).The results showed that in the normal limited state,the value of maximum crack width according to the new code was 11%~22% smaller than to the old one,and the short-term deflection smaller about 7.5%~10.5%;under the same load level,the long-term deflection based on the new code was about 2.8% less than on the old one until the normal limited state.
