The minimum field inspection sample number for concrete carbonation inspection is discussed at the present work. The fib Model Code is chosen to develop a method to calculate minimum inspection sample number using Monte-Carlo simulation. The relationship between the sample number and the accuracy expected at different conditions is discussed according to such an approach. The minimum sample numbers at some given accuracies are obtained and validated by a set of data from some long-term exposed beams.
