BEARING CAPACITY ANALYSIS OF AXIALLY COMPRESSED CIRCULAR TUBED STEEL REINFORCED CONCRETE SHORT COLUMNS

  • Based on the unified strength theory,the mechanical behavior of circular tubed steel reinforced concrete(CTSRC) short columns was analyzed.The calculation formula of bearing capacity of the CTSRC short columns under axial compression was deduced with consideration of the restriction effect of steel tube on SRC by using the unified strength theory solution of thickness cylinder.Parametric studies were carried out to evaluate the effects of influence factors on the bearing capacity of the column.A reasonable match was reached by comparing the results calculated by the formulas with the test results.It was concluded that the unified strength theory was versatile in theoretical analyses of the CTSRC short columns.
