Based on experiment study of HRB400 high-strength reinforced concrete columns under compressingbending loads, the nonlinear finite element program ABAQUS was employed to simulate the tested columns. The influence of dilation angle, viscosity parameter and damage variable of concrete on the simulated results was studied systematically, also the influence of the reinforcement ratio and location of longitudinal high-strength steel bars on the seismic performance of columns. It was shown that dilation angle and viscosity parameter had great influence on the bearing capacity of the columns, and accounting the concrete damage variable could simulate the stiffness degradation of the columns better after yielding. The calculation results could agree with the tested results well by choosing the reasonable simulating parameters.Arranging high-strength steel bars in the centre location of bearing forces side the columns would present better seismic performance.
