To analyse the mechanical property, the experimental study on timber beam strengthened with CFRP sheetwere performed. The shear behaviors, such as failure patterns in shear, load-deflection curves and relationshipbetween load and strain were obtained. The results showed that the failure patterns in shear were usually shear failurealong the grain. The ductility of failure along the grain was very good, and the flexural failure was a typical brittlefailure. The CFRP sheets adjacent to the supports and loading points were subjected to compression until failure.
