ANALYSIS OF ASEISMIC BEHAVIOR OF MASONRY-INFILLED RC FRAME STRUCTURES

  • According to the Wenchuan Earthquake and the seismic resistance of an infilled frame under strong earthquakes,the main reasons for earthquakes damage to infilled frame structures are analyzed.Infilled wall is simplified into equivalent double compressive strut model.An investigation has been conducted to study the influence of infill walls on the performance of the framework subjected to earthquake(dynamic)loading.The study shows that masonry infill walls improve the structure's lateral stiffness and strength,and also have a capacity of dissipating energy when subjected to earthquake(dynamic)loading.
