EXPERIMENTAL STUDY ON BASIC MECHANICAL BEHAVIOR OF A NEW TYPE CONCRETE HORIZONTAL-HOLE HOLLOW BLOCK MASONRY

  • There are many problems existing in the engineering application of concrete vertical-hole hollow block masonry, for instance poor thermal insulation, seepage and crack.To solve these problems, a new type concrete horizontal-hole hollow block masonry is developed.Nine groups with 54 compressive specimens and 4 groups with 16 shear specimens of the new type masonry were tested and the deformation characteristic and failure mechanism of the new type block masonry were obtained.Test results show that the formula of the current national standards is not suitable for the calculation for the new type block masonry and the average shear strength is increased dy 61%~110% as compared with the code.
