This paper was aimed to obtain the key impact parameters of prying action, which existed in the tensile region of flange-plate connection under bending moment. It took an analysis of four basic kinds of flange-plate connectionsflexural capacity, which was developed by means of finite element method simulation with finite element program ANSYS. The analysis especially studied the effect factors of prying force in the tensile region of connection.The corresponding parametric analysis was developed. It was proved that the thickness of flange-plate, the ratio of outer and inner diameter of flange-plate and the ratio of diameter of tube to the inner edge of bolts had a greater effect on the prying forces. It was suggested that prying forces should be controlled based on the adjustment of these key impact parameters in practical engineering design.
