Based on the Direct Strength Method(DSM),the applied calculation formulas fitting for the local and distortional bucklings of cold-formed lipped channel columns under axial pressure is carried out.The minima of local,distortional and global bucklings are the buckling carrying capacity calculation results.A comparative study is made between the calculation results and experimental ones.It shows that in applicable scope the results of applied calculation formulas agree well with those of the experiments.The applied calculation formulas are simple,practical and independent of the dedicated computer program.
