Seven bracing forms in braced frame structures are reviewed and compared,including concentrical brace,eccentric brace,knee brace,buckling restrained brace,extra damper brace,self-centering brace and cable brace.Fundamental principle,state-of-the-art of study and existing problems of each kind of the braces are introduced.Mutual relationship and range of application of the braces are summarized.
