EXPERIMENTAL STUDY ON SHEAR BEHAVIORS OF REINFORCED CONCRETE BEAMS STRENGTHENED WITH PRE-STRESSED INCLINED STIRRUPS

  • Based on the experiment of six simply supported reinforced concrete beams strengthened with pre-stressed inclined stirrups and one contrastive beam,the failure process was observed.The results indicate that the strengthened way used in this paper increased the shear bearing capacity of these specimens: crack load and limit load of the beam has been increased in different degree.And the strengthened beamsshear-crack width was certainly limited.The strut-arch model is used to study the pre-stressed inclined stirrups strengthened beams,and a formula is presented.The formulas for calculating cracking load and shear capacity of reinforced concrete beams with different strengthening cases strengthened by pre-stressed inclined stirrups are proposed through regression analysis of experiment data,and the calculated results coincidence well with the experiment results.
