EXPERIMENTAL RESEARCH ON STATICAL BEHAVIOR OF LIGHT-STEEL PORTAL FRAME

  • Two single-span portal frames were designed to make statical test.The loads were two kinds of combinations:1.20 permanent load + 1.40 variable load,1.20 permanent load + 1.40 variable load + 1.40 0.60 wind load.The internal force and displacement in key points were analyzed.The results indicated that the portal frames could meet the design requirements.FEM software ANSYS was adopted to established a non-linear analysis model,in which the Shell 181 element was chosen.The FEM analytical results agreed well with those of the experiment.After the validity of finite element analysis was proved,the load combination of permanent load and variable load was applied and increased step by step till the failure of frame.Then the failure mode and mechanism were analyzed.
