ANALYSIS ON THE CHARACTERISTICS AND GENESIS OF CRACKS OF DRY-TYPE RED MUD YARD

  • It was the first time to use Bayers dry-type storage of red mud in the yard-type flat at home by Guangxi Aluminum Company,which caused the problem of cracks to some extent through on-site spot survey of No. 2 pool by geological compass,theodolite,leather measuring tape,ten major cracks occurred in No. 2 pool,whose trend was east-west roughly,the major cracks were located from northern to central part of the yard,and many small cracks were distributed around the major crack by netshape as well as rimous pattern . It was concluded that the cracks in the yard were produced by different sequences of red mud emissions,shrinkage of red mud slurry,difference in pressure and solution of soluble salts.
