The axial compression characteristics are studied in the experiments of five CFRP tendons reinforced concrete columns. The influences of the distance between CFRP hoops and the contributions of CFRP tendons on the bearing capacity of the columns were researched in the experiments. The test results indicate that the concrete will be crushed in first under axial compression, and the CFRP tendons or CFRP hoops are likely to be destroyed if the compression force continues to increase. CFRP tendons are helpful to bearing capacity, and CFRP hoops are helpful to bearing capacity when the distance between CFRP hoops is small. But the effect of CFRP hoops on bearing capacity can be ignored if the distance between CFRP hoops exceeds a limit.
