In Shenzhen a buildings basement rose up unevenly because of groundwater buoyancy force action,the maximum rising was up to 397 mm,which caused serious damage to structural components. In this paper,the floated reason of the basement and the failure mechanism of the structure were analyzed,and on this basis,the completed permanent anti-buoyant treatment and the structure reinforcement of the basement were carried out,which achieved good economic and social benefits.
