In view of the random and fuzzy characteristics of excavation soil stability,the fuzzy probability of the bottom of the excavation against heave failure was studied. The example's results indicate that the fuzzy probability will increase along with the increasing of the fuzzy transition area. The fuzzy-random analysis method can provide a theoretic basis for determining the safety factor with traditional empiric safety factor method of excavation projects.
